Worldwide network of experienced English teachers and educational professionals working in the field of English as a second language (ESL) has developed the institute’s teaching methodology according to their wide range of experiences and knowledge. Course teachers are carefully chosen, qualified and experienced professionals in the field of ESL.

Katarina Kilibarda Perret Gentil dit Maillard

Slovenia & Brazil

Katarina is a teacher from Slovenia. She finished her studies at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana, with exchange programs in Sweden and The Netherlands. She has taught English in several countries such as Slovenia, India, China, the Netherlands and Brazil. When she was working for the English for Kids Foundation in the Netherlands, she founded the Educational Volunteer Project that enables students from European universities to teach English in India and Brazil. She worked at the English Examination Network, organizing and managing digital projects and summer schools in different European countries, and coordinating the European network of teachers and schools. Katarina has trained English teachers in Slovenia, India, Brazil and in the Netherlands. She has also taught English as a second language, as well as the Indian education system, to university students. For several years now, Katarina has been conducting researches and projects on the English language at an international scale. She currently lives in Brazil where she has launched the InGlobEn Institute.

Christian Perret Gentil dit Maillard

Switzerland & Brazil

Christian was born and lived in Switzerland and grew up in a bilingual environment: French and Portuguese. At a young age, he discovered a passion for languages, so he went to Canada, where he studied English at the well-known institute. Currently, in addition to those mentioned, he speaks several other languages ​​from different linguistic backgrounds: Spanish, German, Russian and studying ancient Greek and Slovenian. He holds a degree in philosophy from PUC SP and a master’s degree in logic from USP. Since 2016, he has been involved in the English foundation English for Kids Foundation as the organizer of the volunteer project in Brazil, where he organized the program for European volunteers who teach English in state and municipal schools in Orizona, Brazil.

Caio César de Oliveira Pereira

Brazil

Born and raised in the country side of Brazil, Caio César studied at IFGOIANO-URUTAI where he obtained his Plant Science degree, and is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program at the same University. He is a self-taught English speaker and started teaching English in 2015, by the age of 20, in a small private English school in his hometown until he got the opportunity to live in the United States for 1 year. In the US he participated in a Professional Internship in two different companies. During his College time, Caio César worked as a Scientific Translator doing jobs for his Teachers and colleagues. Caio also had experience in developing a course on Translation and Reading of English Scientific Texts in conjunction with IFGOIANO-URUTAI. This project bearing great fruits. In addition to teaching he works as a Scientific Manuscript translator; he is also taking a course to be a Dubbing Translator by the Brazilian Dubbing Society.

Dounia Kuck

Algeria & USA

Dounia is an English teacher, who is passionate about learning and teaching foreign languages. She grew up in a multilingual environment that encouraged her love and ability to learn foreign languages. This later gave her the opportunity to travel abroad and motivated her to pursue studies at the university in language education, which made a positive and life-changing impact on her. Dounia has a master’s degree in Didactics as well as a bachelor’s degree in English and is fluent in 6 languages. She is also a certified English as a foreign or second language teacher and an accredited international primary curriculum teacher. She was able to gather teaching experience in highly international environments in both, academic and private education sectors in Germany, The Netherlands, Japan, and Algeria. Dounia’s goal as a teacher is to encourage her students and others to learn foreign languages and to provide them with a positive learning experience that would encourage them to discover the world, and reach their professional goals.

Marine Bardin

France & Belgium

Marine is passionate about discovering new cultures and learning more about people. Speaking different languages has always been her best passport. “When you learn another language, an entire new world opens to you: a new culture, new expressions, new jokes, new movies and books. You get to meet people you could have never talked to before. It’s the best gift one can give to oneself.” Marine was born – and lived – in France. After her secondary school, she did a hypokhâgne, prestigious education programme, and at the same time studied English and Spanish. She lived in France until she turned 20; she then moved to England where she graduated in English language, literature and civilisation at the University of Reading. For 10 years now, she has been living in Brussels (Belgium), second most cosmopolite city in the world and the heart of the European Union, where she graduated in Journalism (Université Libre de Bruxelles). Speaking English enabled her to conduct a thesis about women’s education and emancipation in rural India – a life-changing experience that also enabled her to develop her two other passions: photography and yoga. “Both are communication channels in their own way.’’

Rob Gainey

UK & The Netherlands

Rob has been a language teacher for a few years now, purely teaching English since 2017. He grew up in the U.K. and is thus a native speaker of British English and has a great passion for the language and helping others to be able to understand, communicate and express themselves in it. He originally studied Early Modern History to an MA level at university and taught French alongside his studies. After moving to the Netherlands and learning Dutch, he decided to double down on language teaching. It was there that he realised how interested others were in English and how useful it is for many as a lingua franca. He thus studied a TEFL course straightaway and has built up a range of experience teaching online and in person, from A1 to C2, and from children to OAPs. As a teacher, Rob’s goal is to inspire others and see his students’ confidence, as well as abilities, grow.

Anja Podpecan

Slovenia & The Netherlands

Originally, from Slovenia, Anja studied at the University of Ljubljana, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Primary Education with a specialization in teaching English as a Second Language to young learners. Her desire to explore and travel the world brought her to the Netherlands, where she finished a program Developing Skills for Teaching English Abroad and taught as an English language trainee in several Dutch primary schools. In the following years, she worked as an English teacher at Anglia’s summer school programs, volunteered for English for Kids Foundation as an ESL teacher trainer and English online tutor for a project in Brazil; she also worked as a language tutor in France, and eventually decided to return to the Netherlands. There she dedicated 2 years to an EAL Teacher position at ISTwente, teaching English as an after school activity for the EME language school and being an English language curriculum advisor for local Dutch schools. Currently employed in Slovenia as a primary school teacher, also teaching English to young learners, she is always looking for ways to pass her passion for teaching and learning to her students and help them on the way to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Shanice Thulasi

USA & Germany

Shanice Thulasi is half-American and German and has lived and studied in the Netherlands, where she finished Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Educational Sciences. She taught English to students in the Netherlands, Germany, and China. In India she volunteered at the school for underprivileged children. She currently lives in the United States and plans on continuing to teaching.
